Dwight D. Eisenhower said, “We succeed only as we identify in life, or in war, or in anything else, a single overriding objective, and make all other considerations bend to that one objective.”

If you ever wonder why you are not more successful in any area of your life (health & fitness, relationships, career, finances, intellectually, or spiritual) ask yourself, “What are my objective in each of these areas?”  Have you identified personal objectives?  Have you written them down?  Do you have a defined action plan of how to reach those objectives? And MOST importantly, is your behavior evidence that you are working towards the objectives?

President “Ike” Eisenhower knew what he was talking about.  We all have certain goals in our minds of what we would like our lives to be like, however we fail on the execution to get there.  Everything we do must be done with the end goal in mind.  That’s not to say we can’t have fun along the way.  But just having fun though, without an objective, is fleeting and will not yield a life of fulfillment and joy.

Playing off the old sports phrase, “I want to be like Mike”… perhaps we’re better off thinking, “I want to be like Ike”.
